Marma

Marma Therapy opens up strangled Marma points, allowing the intelligence of the different bodily systems to regain their homeostasis. Marma therapy also restores one’s perspective on life to a point of clarity, insight, and inspiration.

Elissa practices ISHTA’s signature Marma Therapy, which is drawn from a traditional Ayurvedic bodywork which clears stress from the muscles, soft tissues, fascia, and vital points of the body.  She has been working closely with her teacher, Alan Finger founder of ISHTA over the last few years and has learned under his auspices.  Alan is a master at marma from a tantric tradition and a yoga master, he has been practicing for over 50 years.

Abhyanga Marma

The practice of Abhyanga is a nourishing Ayurvedic massage with specific warmed oils according to the dosha. The Sanskrit word Sneha can be translated as both “oil” and “love.”

Elissa co-designed this treatment with her teacher, Alan Finger founder of ishta yoga.  By blending abhyanga with the marma points and lines of energy that map one's body.  This healing treatment restores and replenishes the body, mind and nervous system. .

A daily Abyanga practice restores the balance of the doshas and enhances well-being and longevity. Regular Abyanga is especially grounding and relaxing for Vata dosha imbalances, but everyone can benefit from this practice.

Self Abyanga can be performed at home with warm oil and is a great expression of self-love and calms the nerves.
